Message from the Fire Chief

As both a citizen and employee of the City of Elkton, it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Fire Chief.

Our mission is to protect lives and property in the community from the adverse effects of fire, environmental, and other emergencies, both natural and man-made. We have an extremely dedicated and trained workforce of 7 members who strive to accomplish that mission each and every day through the delivery of services. In 2013, the department received an Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification rating of 5.

The Fire Department also participates in a mutual aid program with our neighboring departments to provide additional resources for large incidents in an organized and efficient manner.

As the Fire Chief, it is my personal goal to make this city as safe as possible through our commitment to Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, and Emergency Planning. I am committed to the task of meeting the high expectations that we have set as a standard of care in the service of our community. I invite you to learn more about the Elkton Volunteer Fire Department and the services we provide.

Sincerely,

Payton Blade
Fire Chief
